WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

The treatment plant was designed to treat wastewater with a flow rate of 13,500 m3/day and is planned to be operated in stages.

Wastewater entering the treatment plant originates from three different sources: wastewater generated by production, wastewater from the power plant and domestic wastewater.

Treated wastewater is then discharged into İmalı Stream, which later joins the Aksu River.

The facility is built on an area of approximately 8,500 m2 and performs physical, biological and advanced treatment.

  • Units providing physical treatment: Static screens (8 units), primary settling tanks (3 units)
  • Units providing biological treatment: Anaerobic reactor, aeration tanks (4 units), final settling tanks (3 units)
  • Units where advanced treatment takes place: Flocculation and flotation units
  • Auxiliary units: Belt filters (2 units): They carry out sludge dewatering.
  • Biogas scrubber and flare stack: They remove H2S from the generated biogas and ensure its disposal.
  • Biofilter: The unit where unpleasant odors generated in the treatment plant are collected and disposed of.
  • Heat exchanger and cooling tower: They bring the wastewater to a suitable temperature for bacteria.
  • Wastewater entering the treatment plant, which consists of the units above, is treated with an average efficiency of 99%, reducing it below the discharge limit values specified in the regulation.
  • WASTEWATER INLET VALUES / FINAL VALUES: TSS=3000mg/L / TSS=25mg/L, COD=6000mg/L / COD=70mg/L, BOD=2500mg/L / BOD=25mg/L, settleable solids=780mg/L / settleable solids=0.5 mg/L
  • There is also a laboratory within the treatment plant where the analyses required for the facility can be performed.
